Thanksgiving seems to be about the turkey, and most homes will have the lovely scent of a turkey and dressing and mashed potatoes milling through the home early on Thanksgiving, but some of us long for something just a bit different for Thanksgiving, so while we prepare the traditional Thanksgiving recipes, including the typical Thanksgiving turkey, salads and stuffing, as well as the pumpkin pie that is expected, we also add a few things that aren’t so traditional, such as this lovely ham that has a rather sweet AND savory taste to it, when the glaze is added.

Raspberry Pepper Glazed Ham.

1 10 pound smoked ham, preferably spiral sliced with bone in.

1 12 ounce jar raspberry preserves (I use Polaner All Fruit)

2 tablespoons white vinegar

1 tablespoon black pepper.

preheat oven to 350

place the rack in the center of the oven.

In saucepan combine the ingredients and cook on medium heat until bubbles begin to appear in the glaze.

Brush half of the glaze over the ham about half hour before it is time for the ham to be done.

spoon the remainder over just before serving.
