Most children and nearly all adults love anything with the tangy fragrant taste that cinnamon imparts to food.

This recipe definitely qualifies.

It is the cornerstone to our family brunch on the weekends or even to a neighborhood get-together over brunch. Everyone loves fresh fruit and french toast.

1 egg

2 egg whites

1/4 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1/4-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (depending on your tastes)

dash nutmeg

8 slices of bread (homemade or Texas sliced works best).

Whisk egg and egg whites in a medium mixing bowel.

Add milk, vanilla. cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Whisk again to mix.

Coat each side of a slice of bread in the mixture by dipping into a bowl of the egg wash.

Place them onto a pre- heated skillet or griddle that has passed the sizzle test.

After a few minutes, usually about three minutes per side depending on the heat of your griddle (and the bread browns) flip.

Cook a few more minutes until second side is brown.

Dust it lightly with sieved confectioners sugar and serve hot with a pitcher of syrup, for the perfect brunch.

add some crunchy bacon and piquant sausage links, a pan of fluffy scrambled eggs and a few various bowls of fresh fruit and thick whipped cream to dip it in.

Toss in a pitcher of ice cold orange juice and you are ready to enjoy your morning.
