Whenever I work in the kitchen, my kids always want to help with the cooking. Around the Holidays, when I’m making some of the more complicated recipes, there is often little that they can help with but this is the perfect solution. After you cook the ingredients they can dip the marshmallows. This allows them to be involved while giving you a bit of time to do other things that they may not be able to help with.

41/2 C crispy rice cereal crushed coarsely

1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk.(not evaporated)

1 14 oz package caramels

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 16 oz package large marshmallows

Line 2 baking sheets with waxed paper and crush cereal into a medium bow. Set both aside.

Using a large saucepan, cook the milk, butter, and caramels over medium heat, stirring until smooth and melted. Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon and vanilla. Let cool slightly.

Place a long toothpick into each marshmallow and dip into warm caramel mixture turning to coat all the way around. Press bottom into cereal and place on baking sheets to set.
