i have been feeling the same - too much work. In michigan we never had a pest problem. we just planted, watered, and everything grew great. but in florida, pest are taking over. weird black and grey aphids keep coming from my neighbors yard... time to order some ladybugs. weird different worms and caterpillars keep coming and eating EVERYTHING - new varieties every month, and they love our cukes so we cant grow them now as they dont stand a chence. pesticides are really a waste of money here, they dont last long and kill the good bugs too. i am about to give up, but i will try this advice first, along with some ladybugs. good luck to all you pest-invaded gardeners! oh yeah, if anyone has a ladybug invasion, consider making a little extra cash by selling those suckers, online or to your local garden store, instead of burning them and other wierd things ive been reading about...
