Josh... Some of your points are indeed salient, although we will agree to disagree on others.
I personally prefer real trees because of the scent, and the ambience they give a room.
They are also able to be composted at the end of the season, or you can, as some people do, purchase them with a root ball and plant them later.
Thanks for an informative post.

Actually REAL trees are much better for the economy and the environment versus FAKE trees and I will tell you why:

FAKE - Fake trees are made mostly in China and contain lead and are primarily made of PVC. These are then shipped thousands of miles so let’s just say the use way more petroleum than a REAL tree does over its lifetime. Not only are there dangerous chemicals involved they bring nothing to the us economy with the exception of maybe lining big box stores pockets a little more.

REAL - Real Christmas trees area crop they are cultivated and harvested typically by small family growers. These growers plant 3 seedlings for every tree they cut. Each tree takes 5-8 years to reach maturity and during that lifetime real trees absorb CO2 from the environment. Once the holidays are over many recycling locations exist to turn these trees into mulch or other enviro friendly products. Finally now that you can order REAL Christmas Trees online from sites like www.premiumchristmastree.com real trees are as convenient as ever!
