Today, thanks to increased spending on Internet advertising, you can make an actual income from your websites. Learn how I do it!
We all know the Internet is the most incredible way to do a hundred different things. Among those things is to make some extra money from your web site or even earn a living publishing on the Internet full time!

I don’t want to make it sound easy, because like any business it involves a lot of hard work, some amount of timing and luck and learning a whole lot about how to earn money online.

There are so many methods to make additional money from your web site that it doesn’t matter truly if it makes it to the top lists in any of the search engines, so long as you don’t count on traffic for all of the revenue.

Using your website to make more money means helping it to live up to its potential by finding the right way to optimize it for search engines, to work at gathering new traffic and the means to draw visitors to come back to your site at least on a weekly basis.

But as we all know, some of those things can fail and still leave us with a smaller site, with somewhat less traffic than we might wish for. But, if you develop something compelling enough to attract an audience, then you will have plenty of ways to "monetize" it!

Here are some of the ways I have found to make a good living working from home, using nothing but my computer, hard work and experience to build a portfolio of over 50 websites:

One method is it use your site as some kind of platform for a service or product such as to sell affiliate web hosting. Low cost hosting of web sites is one of the ways you might consider. It has become one of the ultimate ways to make extra funding on your site. There are myriad people out there who would purchase that hosting from you, which you may brand with your own title or tag and use it as your hosting service including billing your users while the actual physical hosting is done elsewhere, while you pay them a nominal fee to do so.

Another method you might consider would be to experiment with the various different advertising systems, each of which should ideally be in tune with your overall theme of site. For example, if you sell Labradors, then something you might like to try would be taking in related advertising that matches your topic, or even taking in advertising from veterinary supply warehouses or online vet clinics, which could certainly help you to make a better living from a hobby site.

If you maintain a blog site, checking into advertising and using your blog to advertise others blogs or services will be a method that might work for you.

Another way to make money is to build an elist and use that to help advertise the service you want to sell, or to help it to become more popular. Using another persons blog or e-list to advertise your service is another method that works well for building up your own list and your own sales potential.

A different kind of advertising or traffic building method is cross listing, or taking in an advertisement, one that fits well with the topic and discussion of your list, and advertising for that person on your own list, while he or she will advertise your services on their own. In this way you will probably gather future leads that will help you to further expand your income potential. There are certain aspects of this kind of marketing that you will need to consider prior to choosing a list. Among those things will be to check out each lists topic of discussion, how well they receive new advertising, how much they discuss, or how busy the list is. Are they receptive to new advertising methods and new users to the list? How well do they take to new ideas and new proposals and how well do you think your advertisement will be accepted. If you think there is room for an improvement in the way that it will be received, then its better that you look around to find another list that will use your advertising to its full potential.

Another thing that I’ve personally found useful is to take advantage of a new technology, any new product or new idea that someone has which is just out of the box, so to speak or an upcoming fad, then advertise it on your site, drawing traffic to this fad, which will stay on your site, if your content is a draw to them. Using perhaps a new computer technology, you can draw people to your home site, and then keep them by offering further computer articles or products for sale.

While I don’t suggest quitting your day job until you have built up a steady income working at it part time, I can tell you that not having a commute or a boss is great and making money on the Internet is a great way to earn money if you have the discipline, know how and persistence to make it work!

There are times when we have the need of a non profit status even if our business is operated from home, such as a smaller animal rescue or a self help organization.

In a circumstance such as this, having the tax exempt status that is afforded to one kind of non profit (a 501c3) would be very helpful in managing costs and does have the added benefit of lending a certain legitimacy to your efforts.
To begin your own non profit is not all that difficult but does require that certain steps be taken and certain things be taken into consideration

* Research, and expand your understanding of what a non profit really is.. It is in fact an organization that supports some mission or issue of importance to the public interest, or a charity, for a non commercial reason.

* There are several kinds of non profit organizations and not all of them are tax exempt, and those which are, are bound by c certain restrictions in their workings.

* Formulating a mission statement is necessary for formation. As a non profit your existence is defined by what your purpose and services will be. The mission statement should provide that in clear concise terms to allow anyone who is reading it to know exactly who you are and what you plan to accomplish by your non profit.

* Create a board of Directors. This will mean taking some careful consideration and recruiting members that you believe have the skills and talents that will best allow for the growth of the group and the fulfillment of the mission you have stated.

* Articles of Incorporation:
These articles of incorporation must be filed to provide for the official formation of your group. They will protect you and your staff from any legal liabilities by making the corporation itself responsible for debt arising from the groups activities not those who run or work for it. Each state has differing rules and legal strictures for what is necessary to incorporate in your state. Do check with an attorney if you have any questions as to what is necessary in your state to file the articles.

** Each organization will require bylaws, which are more or less the rules of their operations as an organization. They are not necessarily needed, however they will help to keep everyone clear on where the group stands and what responsibilities and rights that you have inside the non profit.

** Write yourself a beginning budget. Determine what you have for opening operating costs, how you will meet those and what your objectives are for the money as well as how you will spend future income.
Plan for future expenditures by deciding now how you will spend what you take in, and what purposes you will use your funding for, as well as a plan of fund raising.

** Create your own good and sensible record keeping plan, and save all documents as required by law, including any financial statements and minutes of any meetings that are held.

** Get an accounting system started, and a bank account if possible.
Working with an accountant might be a good idea if you don not have an officer who is familiar with accounting practices.

It is absolutely imperative that responsible and exact financial management takes place that provides for today and plans for tomorrows needs.

** Apply online for your EIN, even if you do not anticipate taking in employees, this is necessary to move on to the next step.

** File for your 501 status. To be tax exempt and achieve 501 c 3, you must get form 1023 and instruction booklet from your IRS office or download it from the Internet.

** File for state or local tax exemption as well as federal.

According to Wiki How, here is how to find a board member for your organization.
” What to look for in a board member: Look for individuals whose values reflect your statement of purpose. Although it is recommended that the majority of your board be consumers, include the community at large, not just your specific community of focus (e.g. the mental health community). Consider the religious community, local service clubs, legal professionals, and colleges and universities as sources for prospective a Board of Directors. Do not overload people who already serve on many committees – seek a balance between old and new leadership.”

We’ve all had the great dream haven’t we?? Of patenting the little trinket we invented so that no one can touch it for several years while we, in our infinite wisdom develop and make it and become rich beyond our wildest dreams.

and a few of us will but the reality is that most of us won’t even take the steps it takes to patent the invention when it really can be done for minimal costs.

For the most part, many of the ideas out there don’t get patented and even though we may have picked a winner with what we dreamed up, we simply don’t take the second step.

Obviously you are considering it or you wouldn’t be reading this… If you have decided that your idea is worth developing, then you need to turn to the laws about patents in the US for some assistance.

WHAT IS A PATENT:
Its a document issued by the US PATENT AND TRADEMARK OFFICE, that will grant you the sole right to develop your invention for a specific amount of time. In other words, you have a monopoly for as much as 20 years, but usualy for 1

The patent will give you the right to keep this to your own devices for a rather long time span, and because of this, they are inspected rather strenuously by the patent offices.

Usually what happens is this. You will apply and pay a fee of about 100 dollars, sometimes more, and fill out your application at which time, the examiner assigned to you will review the application, and then send it back to you, so that between the two of you, you will have to agree on which parts of your invention your patent will take into account and then you resend it to him.

This back and forth usually takes one to two years to complete.

IF you, together with the patent office, reach an amiable agreement, the application will be permitted and they will public a very short description of what you want to do in the official publication of the office called the Official Gazette.

This is to permit the public at large to object to your being allowed to patent the device. IF there are not objections then you pay the required fee, and the PTO affords you a document which is known as a patent deed, but most of us just call a patent.

Unlike copyright laws, there is no such animal as an auto patent by creation, so you must in fact file a patent if you are to have sole ownership of what you have created.

In some cases there are more than one application for the same thing. When this happens, you must prove that you created the device first, or had begun to manufacture it, or at least had documented the idea so it is a good idea for those who are serious about the inventing process to keep good notes and records of times and dates about their inventions.
If there is this issue in the patent process, it is called an interference and a hearing is held to decide who will get the patent.

There are many places online which will legitimately help you to develop and patent your invention. These are honest sites that help out inventers.

There are just as many who are not so legitimate, who will of course not do more than to accept your funding and probably be gone on the next fast train.

Take precautions when you work with a web site and research research research the name of the company that the site represents.

Use Better Business Bureau web sites as well as fraud complaint sites to make sure that the company or online site you select to help you is a legitimate one.

One site that will assist you in knowing what your next step should be is located here. Legal Zoom is the number one online legal site and can help you in a wide variety of ways, from patent to self divorce.

For those who are considering returning to the work force but would like to remain in their own homes to do so, finding a way to make money from home is not always easy.

There are the countless endless scams which explain how to make a fortune from your personal computer without lifting so much as the proverbial finger to help yourself.

As they say, if it sounds too good to be true it most probably is.

There are however some legitimate work at home, and freelance opportunities in the data entry field.

Many companies and corporations will hire freelancers to input their data into fields, keep abreast of email or enter email addresses into databases.

These are not difficult positions to fill, yet pay usually per number or entries made, but often times will pay by the hour as well

Many data entry positions are from the larger companies who are seeking to use a service which has a little more time and will be able to use that to assure the quality as well as the quantity of the work.

You can work at home, and love it! It just takes time and perseverance. Spend part of each week, looking for jobs and searching for freelance opportunities. I have personally done everything from writing about machinery to troubleshooting new software to writing press releases for some very large companies.

There are various sites which will help you to find online work opportunities..
One thing to remember that is when a company wants you to pay them to give you work, its not a company that you should be dealing with.. many of these are indeed scams, designed to make money for the artist, not for you..

Continue your searching until you find something that affords you the right to work without having to pay a premium price for it.

Try a search on Google to find a list of telecommuting and work at home positions, using a reputable site that will help you to be matched with someone who has a need of your particular skill set.

They will ask you for a fee to join the site in most cases but usually the fee is nominal and will be covered by your first job. Do beware on sites such as these though and don’t take more than the least amount that you feel is fair.

When I began I dealt with several unscrupulous individuals who believed it was fair to bid on jobs from a site and then farm those writing jobs out to others, keeping not a fair amount as a finders fee, but instead, usually over fifty percent, so that the person who actually writes the item, will receive usually less than two dollars per article.

You will be able to spot these individuals by checking their names on the site prior to bidding on their jobs, and comparing how many things they sell each week and also if they sell services as well as buying them, how many they actually bid on. Then compare the two columns to see if there are jobs that are alike in the listings.

There are legitimate people out there who want to buy your talents but remember, that taking less than you are worth, will mean you don’t have time to do a job for someone who values the work you put out and to beware of anything that wants money from you. Up front usually means that you aren’t going to make out on this one.

Many people are migrating away from the office job and turning their sights on a job they can do from home that will let them do other things as well.

Finding this type of work that you can work at from your home PC is not going to just come into your email inbox. . For the most part it will not fall into your lap.

It is, as anything else, a job.. A job that you will need to go and find, be interviewed for and many others will want that same position. Many, if not most of the people who do clerical work from home, created their own jobs by virtue of hard work, effort and a lot of scanning Internet sites, freelance job areas and sites and applications to various companies on their own time.

Very few of the clerical work from home classified on the Internet that you pay tons of funds to access will truly pan out for you sadly enough.

Before you begin to do your job search, assess your skills. The possession of a computer and typing in a role play or in chat rooms or emails to your mother in law do not in any case count as “marketable” skills.

What kind of clerical skills do you have that are marketable.? Are you a very fast typist? Can you transcribe, proofread, write knowledgeably about many things, or be able to spot typos a mile away?? Do you have any formal training in any area that will help you to find a job as a virtual assistant or a web site author?

The best advice many home workers in the clerical field, give is that they offered low cost typing, printing or desktop publishing to businesses or smaller businesses in their area, and began their business generally purchasing outsourced bits and pieces and then worked their way up.
Here are a few ideas.

-paralegal, veterinary offices, physicians offices, confirmation calls, hospital phone calls.

Each person who is actively working phoned this type business and offered to outsource for them, giving a cut rate until they had proven themselves in the field.

Some telecommuting jobs don’t pay what you will be used to in an office job, and they are not always high powered positions that will give you access to vast sums of money on a weekly basis. Most are part-time. So–if you’re looking for a position that will pay you about 100 -150 a week, then this is probably the way for you to go.

Writing articles on various web sites can be found on many for bid web sites, and dependent upon your skills or how fast you write, you can make as much as you like, provided that you build a good reputation and take in more than one bid per week.

As with any other position, rising through the ranks will take time and effort but not having to dress for the office will be well worth it.
