There are so many ways of monetizing a site now, from Google Adsense (where you get paid every time someone clicks on an ad) to affiliate programs based on CPA (cost per action) like filling in a form, to programs based on sales, where commissions could be thousands of dollars (in the insurance, financial and hosting sectors). The larger ticket items will take longer to come through. The smaller commission items will be many and fast. The first question to ask would be: what type would suit your site’s traffic?

Also, don’t forget to put an opt-in box prominently on your site (preferably Aweber) so that interested people can subscribe to your newsletter or ezine. When promoting your blog or website I always shoot for non “no follow” links because you’ll just be wasting for time if you don’t pay attention to that. Unless the blog comment or link can bring floods of traffic like wikipedia, otherwise I wouln’t bother.
